Colour Blocking Autumn
12.11.12
How's your weekend? Have you done anything exciting or perhaps you are preparing ideas for seasonal decor? I've been getting inspired for autumn and winter in a multitude of ways, from cuisine to mantle pieces. You can see some images on my boards here.
Since I am on a short holiday enjoying friends and family I wanted to show you a colour blocked fall outfit. I wore this in route to an art showing, then to attend tapas night for a friend's birthday. Can one really go wrong with flavourful sangria and delicious tapas?
With autumn winds present and winter season looming it's quite easy to make my summer garments versatile; allowing them to transition into colder climates by adding just one or two elements. I settled on wearing my silver spike bracelet, floral tights, and polka dots that were colour blocked on my dress. Generally when I want to don a spring or summer outfit in opposite seasons I go for multiple layers with a Tee or boots, etc. This time all that was really needed was fun legwear!
I like this dress, however I've only worn it a few times because it takes a bit of work to get into due to narrow openings. And, as always bringing back older pieces from my wardrobe tend to give me a brief chuckle as I stumble across a few oddities here and there, analysing the fashion preferences of my past.

Initially, the dress also came with a patent belt—with the puffy cap sleeves it takes on a character of its own, but I like the dress more now. It's very feminine, and in an almost storybook type of way! I paired my knit hat and tweed jacket to not only stay warm, yet also make the entire look more of my (present) style, which has evolved quite a lot, even since I first acquired the dress!

There, you have it! My colour blocking autumn and puffed sleeves that I once said I would not wear. Don't you just love fashion!
I hope you're staying safe and warm lovelies!
The goods: Dress-H&M, Spike bracelet-Oasap, Beaded necklace-Steinmart, Knit hat-Express, Floral tights-Hue, Shoes-Delias NY, Jacket-NY & Co., Handbag-Vintage, Belt-F21
